Job Description:
Full job descriptionScience Teacher (QTS Required) – Job Description*Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 teaching experience desirable.
*Teach Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics in line with the National Curriculum and examination specifications.
*Prepare students for GCSE examinations and support them in achieving strong academic outcomes.
*Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback to support learning.
*Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND, EAL, and higher-attaining students.
*Maintain high standards of behaviour and implement the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
*Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
*Ensure practical lessons are delivered safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements.
*Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and support staff to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
*Attend departmental meetings, parents’ evenings, and contribute to wider school activities.
*Follow all safeguarding and child protection procedures and report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Essential Requirements:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – mandatory.
*Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4.
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
