Full job descriptionUX Designer (GDS)
UK Wide | Hybrid (1 day per week in London, Manchester or Glasgow)


We’re looking for a UX Designer with experience delivering user-centred digital services within GDS and public sector environments.


You’ll join a multidisciplinary Agile team, helping to design accessible, intuitive services that meet user needs and align with Government Digital Service standards.


What you’ll be doing
*Designing end-to-end user experiences for digital products and services
*Creating user journeys, personas, service blueprints and wireframes
*Building interactive prototypes using Figma and GOV.UK Prototype Kit
*Working closely with User Researchers, Product Owners, Developers and Business Analysts
*Applying GDS principles, accessibility standards and user-centred design best practices
*Presenting and justifying design decisions to stakeholders


What we’re looking for
*Experience working on GDS or public sector digital projects
*Strong understanding of GDS Service Standards and GOV.UK Design System
*Experience creating UX and service design artefacts
*Strong prototyping skills using Figma
*Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams
*Knowledge of HTML, CSS and GOV.UK Prototype Kit would be beneficial
*Eligible for SC Clearance (existing clearance is advantageous)
