Full job descriptionEthos Talent is partnering with an established and successful organisation in Northampton to recruit a Financial Controller.
This is a key appointment offering the opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while working closely with senior leadership to support business performance, decision-making and future growth.
The Opportunity
As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, leading the month-end process and supporting the wider business through meaningful financial insight and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the month-end and year-end reporting processes
*Prepare monthly management accounts and associated commentary
*Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management
*Ensure robust financial controls and compliance procedures are maintained
*Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and insight
*Partner with operational leaders to improve business performance
*Manage balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting requirements
*Lead, mentor and develop members of the finance team
*Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting capabilities
*Support external auditors and key external stakeholders
About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to influence and build relationships across a business.
You will ideally have:
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
*Previous experience within a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role
*Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
*Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
*Experience leading or mentoring finance professionals
*A proactive approach with the ability to identify and implement improvements
*Strong commercial awareness and business partnering capability
