Full job descriptionLearning Support Assistant (LSA) - Mainstream School - Newmarket - Start Date ASAPProspero Teaching are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newmarket. This is a full-time, Monday-Friday position supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs within a mainstream classroom environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children access learning, build confidence, and make progress both academically and socially.
The school is looking for a patient, resilient and proactive LSA who can provide high-quality support, adapt learning tasks, and build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
CONTRACT DETAILS*Location - Newmarket
*Position - Learning Support Assistant (SEN - Mainstream)
*Type of work - SEN support (1:1 and/or in-class support)
*Start date - ASAP
*Duration - Ongoing / Long-term
*Full time/part-time - Full time, Monday-Friday
*Minimum rate of pay - £90-£110 per day
*Hours - School hours (approx. 8:30am - 3:30pm)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS*Experience working with SEN in a mainstream school (essential)
*Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs
*Understanding of behaviour strategies and differentiated support
*Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable)
*Relevant TA/LSA/SEN qualifications (desirable)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:*Hold Right to Work in the UK
*Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
*Provide two professional child-related references
