Full job descriptionAbout the RoleWe are partnering with a well-established UK manufacturing and engineering business to recruit a Finance Business Partner. This is a highly visible role that sits at the heart of operations and finance, providing critical financial insight, challenge and support to operational leaders across the business.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving business performance, ensuring robust financial control, supporting strategic decision-making, and delivering accurate forecasting and planning. Key Responsibilities*Partner with operational and project teams to provide financial insight, analysis and challenge.
*Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term business planning activities.
*Monitor financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency.
*Analyse actual performance against budgets and forecasts, investigating and explaining variances.
*Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
*Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, statutory reporting requirements and audit processes.
*Provide financial input into strategic projects, investment decisions and business initiatives.
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective financial management and operational performance.
*Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping drive informed commercial decisions.
*Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing reporting, systems and financial processes.
About YouYou will be a commercially minded finance professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Essential Skills & Experience*Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with a desire to continue professional development.
*Experience in a Finance Business Partnering, Project Accounting or Management Accounting role.
*Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
*Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
*Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
*Experience producing management information and performance reporting.
*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong systems aptitude.
*Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills & Experience*Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
*Experience within manufacturing, engineering, defence, aerospace or project-based environments.
*Knowledge of SAP (FI, CO, PS modules).
*Understanding of product costing, project accounting and IFRS.
*Experience working with government, defence or regulated contracts.
