Full job descriptionTeaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive nursery in the B29 area of Birmingham to recruit an experienced and passionate SENDCo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional who is committed to supporting children with additional needs and ensuring every child receives the best possible start to their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the nursery.
*Identify and assess children’s additional needs at an early stage.
*Develop, implement, and review individual support plans and targets.
*Work collaboratively with nursery staff, parents, carers, and external agencies.
*Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
*Support staff with strategies, interventions, and inclusive teaching practices.
*Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
*Promote an inclusive environment where all children can thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
*Previous experience working as a SENDCo or within a SEND leadership role.
*A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
*Experience supporting children with a range of additional needs.
*Excellent communication and organisational skills.
*A collaborative and proactive approach.
*Relevant childcare, education, or SEND qualifications.
*SENDCo qualification desirable but not essential.
*Enhanced DBS or willing to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
