Full job descriptionIn this role you will monitor policy developments and parliamentary debates, draft briefing papers on key external announcements and help to build relationships with parliamentarians and civil servants whilst ensuring the body is the go-to partner on metals and the circular economy for Government, regulators, NGOs, and wider stakeholders.

Policy and Sustainability Manager

Responsibilities:
*To develop and maintain a strong understanding of all relevant, current and proposed, UK legislation that could impact on the metals recycling sector.
*Support positions being developed by the Association by researching and gathering data to create spreadsheets, reports, etc.
*To keep abreast of policy changes, ensuring agreed actions are delivered, and reporting on any outcomes.
*To support members in navigating environmental regulations and policy legislation.
*Provide the Secretariat for committees.
*Represent the Association at meetings with government departments and regulators.

Policy and Sustainability Manager

*A strong background in policy development, stakeholder engagement and sustainability initiatives.
*Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
*Strong time-management skills and an ability to prioritise, plan and juggle competing priorities.
*A proven ability to analyse and interpret legislative and regulatory frameworks.
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
*Excellent working knowledge of Westminster and Whitehall.
