Job Description:
Full job descriptionOur client
Our client is a high volume manufacturer in the North East operating within a highly automated, technically advanced production environment. With significant recent investment in technology, systems and people, the business is entering a period of sustained growth and transformation, with a clear focus on improving operational performance, reliability and efficiency.
The business is moving toward a proactive, data-driven maintenance strategy, creating a strong opportunity for engineering talent to play a key role in shaping the future of the function.
The opportunity
This is a newly created Maintenance Engineer role, designed to bridge the gap between reactive maintenance and engineering-led improvement.
You will play a key role in driving equipment reliability and performance, with a particular focus on identifying and eliminating repeat issues.
Key responsibilities include:
*Leading root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring equipment failures
*Improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and uptime
*Using CMMS and operational data to identify trends and implement solutions
*Supporting the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance practices
*Working cross-functionally with production and engineering teams
This is a hands-on but highly analytical role, offering the opportunity to influence both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategy.
About you
*Electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer from a high-volume manufacturing environment
*Strong experience in automation, robotics and PLC-controlled machinery
*Proven track record in root cause analysis and problem-solving
*Comfortable working with data to drive performance improvements and reliability
*Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and fault find effectively
*Ideally HND or degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
*A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a genuine interest in improving how things work
*Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally and challenge where needed
If you’re looking to step into a role where you can make a tangible impact on performance and be part of a business in growth, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
