Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
About the Role
We are recruiting a committed and enthusiastic SEN Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Huddersfield from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about making science accessible and engaging for pupils with Special Educational Needs, including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and learning difficulties. You will play a key role in adapting the science curriculum to meet individual needs and inspire a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons across KS3 and/or KS4
Adapt curriculum content to meet varying SEN needs and abilities
Support and implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Work collaboratively with TAs, SENCO, and external agencies
Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Monitor progress and use assessment data to inform teaching
The Ideal Candidate
Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
Has experience teaching Science and working with SEN pupils
Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Is patient, resilient, and adaptable in their teaching approach
Has a strong commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
Experience in a specialist setting or SEN provision is desirable but not essential
