We are looking for an Account Manager - Distribution to join a Sales, Distribution and Partnerships team. This role will focus on managing and developing relationships across a portfolio of insurers, MGAs, product providers and brokers, helping to drive revenue growth, improve product placement, and strengthen insurer-broker connectivity across a technology-led platform ecosystem.
Reporting to the Director of Distribution and Partnerships, you will play a key role in supporting the wider revenue growth strategy. You will work closely with insurer partners, broker customers and internal teams including Broker Sales, Customer Success, Pre-Sales and Product to identify opportunities, support account growth, and ensure customers are maximising the value delivered through the platform.
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for the day-to-day account management of a panel of insurers, MGAs and product providers, ensuring strong customer satisfaction, retention and commercial development. You will build a deep understanding of each customer’s business model, objectives, products and distribution strategy, using this insight to create meaningful account plans and identify new opportunities.
This will include developing relationships across the UK, NI and ROI insurance markets, supporting upsell and expansion opportunities, negotiating commercial terms and contracts, maintaining accurate CRM records, and working with broker intermediaries to encourage the use of EDI technology or equivalent platform-based solutions.
You will also keep close to market trends and competitor activity, using data and insight to help customers understand the value being delivered and how they can trade more effectively through the platform.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with proven account management experience, ideally gained within an insurance provider, broker environment, MGA, product provider, software house, SaaS business, or another relevant B2B commercial setting.
You’ll be confident managing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, negotiating commercial terms, and working towards monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets. Experience of the general insurance market, including Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines, would be highly valuable, as would knowledge of insurance products, broker distribution channels, electronic trading or EDI.
You’ll be a strong communicator who is professional, approachable and commercially focused. You’ll need to be self-motivated, organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities, while working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver the best outcome for customers.
Key experience and skills
*Proven account management, client success, sales or relationship management experience
*Experience in insurance, broking, MGA, product provider, SaaS or software house environments
*Strong commercial awareness with experience of retention, upsell, cross-sell and revenue growth
*Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships across multiple stakeholders
*Confidence negotiating contracts, commercial terms and customer orders
*Understanding of the general insurance market, broker distribution or electronic trading would be advantageous
*Ability to interpret data, present insight and maintain accurate account records
*Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
*Good MS Office skills and experience using CRM systems
*Full valid driving licence or ability to travel when required
