Animal Health Officer - Arbroath Scotland Arbroath (On-site across local authority area)
3-Month Contract | Immediate Start
Our public sector client is looking for an experienced Animal Health Officer to support their regulatory team on a short-term contract.
This is a hands-on role focused on routine inspections, compliance, and animal welfare enforcement across a variety of premises.
The RoleYou’ll be responsible for:
*Enforcing animal health & welfare legislation
*Carrying out licensing compliance inspections (homes, kennels, riding schools, retail, etc.)
*Supporting the current part-time Animal Health Officer
*Investigating animal welfare complaints and supporting disease control activity
*Maintaining accurate records in line with Scottish Government standards (including Uniform system)
Focus is on routine surveillance, education, and enforcement - no active disease outbreaks
What You’ll Need*Experience within a Scottish local authority regulatory service
*Strong knowledge of:*Animal Health and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006
*Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (Scotland) Regulations 2021
*Full UK driving licence + access to a vehicle
