Our client is a market-leading business operating across multiple international markets. Following continued growth and investment, they are seeking a talented finance leader to join their senior management team and play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant looking to take ownership of a finance function while working closely with senior stakeholders in a dynamic and commercially driven environment.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will lead the day to day UK finance function, ensuring robust financial reporting, strong financial controls and the delivery of meaningful commercial insight to support business growth and profitability.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted business partner to the senior leadership team, providing challenge, analysis and recommendations to improve performance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead, develop and motivate the finance team, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
*Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and accounting processes.
*Deliver detailed monthly management accounts, variance analysis and performance reporting.
*Provide insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
*Coordinate annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
*Manage cash flow forecasting and optimise working capital performance.
*Monitor key metrics including inventory, debtors, creditors and stock management.
*Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations.
*Oversee statutory reporting, year-end accounts preparation and audit processes.
*Ensure compliance with group policies, regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks.
*Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and financial governance.
*Act as a key deputy to the Finance Director and contribute to wider business strategy.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
*Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
*Strong financial reporting, balance sheet control and statutory accounting expertise.
*Proven experience managing audits and compliance requirements.
*Excellent commercial awareness and the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
*Strong budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management experience.
*Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
*Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing successful teams.
*Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
Experience within an international group environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
