Full job descriptionA well-established, family-run chartered surveyors and planning consultancy near Preston is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join its growing planning team. The practice acts for a broad client base, from individual private clients through to national companies, and has built a strong reputation across the Northwest for the quality of its advice and its client care.

The role
Working alongside the existing planning team, you will:
*Prepare and manage planning applications across residential, commercial and rural schemes
*Carry out site appraisals and advise clients on development potential and planning risk
*Produce clear, well-reasoned reports, planning statements and supporting documents
*Liaise with clients, local planning authorities and other consultants
*Keep on top of changes in planning policy and legislation and apply them to live cases
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate is a planner who can hit the ground running:
*An RTPI accredited planning degree or master’s
*MRTPI, or actively working towards chartership
*Private consultancy experience, with a track record of taking applications through to determination
*Confident managing your own caseload and dealing directly with clients
*Strong written and verbal communication, good attention to detail, and a full driving licence
We will also consider an exceptional graduate. If you are early in your career you will need a strong academic pedigree, ideally an RTPI accredited qualification from a leading planning school, along with evidence that you stand out, such as relevant awards or distinctions.
