SEN TeacherProspero Teaching is working with a specialist school in the Reading area to recruit a committed and passionate SEN Teacher (QTS). The school is looking for qualified teachers who are enthusiastic about working within special educational needs (SEN) and are able to bring subject specialisms from a range of curriculum areas.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work in a supportive and structured environment where teaching is adapted to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs. You will deliver lessons in your subject specialism while supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic development.
The school is open to teachers from a variety of subject backgrounds who are motivated to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting.
The Role:*Deliver lessons within your subject specialism across KS3 and KS4
*Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with SEN
*Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement
*Plan and deliver structured and differentiated lessons
*Assess student progress and provide feedback
*Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
*Work closely with teaching assistants and SEN staff
*Maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
*Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate:*Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*Passionate about working within an SEN environment
*Strong subject knowledge in any secondary specialism
*Confident adapting lessons for pupils with additional needs
*Patient, resilient, and supportive teaching approach
*Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills
*Committed to supporting both academic and personal development
Contract Details:*Position: SEN Teacher (QTS)
*Location: Reading
*Start Date: ASAP or September
*Working Pattern: Full-time
*Pay Rate: £32,916 - £51,047 per annum (M1-U3)
*Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:*QTS required
*SEN or specialist-setting experience beneficial but not essential
*Safeguarding training can be provided
