The Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious business where finance plays a central role in operational and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence process improvements, support business growth, and work closely with senior leadership across the organisation.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong team focus. Offering broad exposure across financial control, operational finance, reporting, cash flow management, and business partnering.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you’ll ideally have experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or similar environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial performance, strengthening controls, and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead monthly management accounts preparation, reconciliations, and financial analysis
*Oversee day-to-day finance operations including sales ledger, purchase ledger, general ledger, and banking activities
*Manage cash flow forecasting and support working capital optimisation
*Oversee payroll, pensions, and employee benefits processes
*Ensure compliance with accounting standards, VAT regulations, and internal controls
*Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
*Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and performance analysis
*Support procurement and stock-related financial processes
*Drive process improvement across finance systems, controls, and reporting
*Prepare information for audit and ensure accurate financial record keeping
*Attend operational meetings and provide financial support to senior stakeholders
*Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to operate effectively within a growing operational business.
