Full job descriptionWalker Cole International is supporting a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organisation in the search for a Packaging Lead Engineer to join their engineering team in West Yorkshire.
This position will provide technical leadership across packaging and manufacturing operations, driving equipment reliability, maintenance excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising asset performance, reducing downtime and supporting the long-term engineering strategy within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
Your Responsibilities as Packaging Lead Engineer*Lead engineering activities across packaging and manufacturing equipment, acting as the primary escalation point for technical and reliability issues.
*Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, asset performance and maintenance effectiveness.
*Support the development of maintenance strategies, asset care programmes and preventative maintenance plans.
*Monitor engineering performance metrics and coach technical teams to improve equipment uptime, reliability and operational efficiency.
Your Background as Packaging Lead Engineer*Degree qualified in Engineering or a related technical discipline with experience in a manufacturing environment.
*Proven experience supporting or leading maintenance and reliability activities on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
*Strong understanding of asset reliability, preventative maintenance strategies, root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
*Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment, with knowledge of GMP standards considered advantageous.
