Full job descriptionTradewind Recruitment are seeking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our vibrant specialist primary school in County Durham. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced professional looking to make a positive impact in an inclusive and supportive educational environment. You will be working with children whom have profound and multiple learning difficulties, and/or working with pupils diagnosed with autism. The role is to start immediately and will be full-time 8:20-16:00 Monday to Friday, covering maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:*Preparing, planning and delivering lessons to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
*Assist students with learning activities, ensuring they are fully included in lessons.
*Adapt and modify learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
*Support the development of student’s social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
*Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to implement individual learning plans.
*Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
*Promote inclusion, equality, and respect for diversity across the school.
Requirements:*Previous experience teaching children in a specialist setting
*Experience supporting students with SEND is essential.
*A valid Child workforce DBS on the Update Service or have one in progress.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
*A clear understanding of how to support students with a variety of SEND needs, including but not limited to autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
*A positive and professional attitude towards inclusive education.
*An ability to adapt quickly and effectively in a dynamic school environment
