The Role
As a Business Development Specialist, you won’t just be chasing numbers; you will be acting as a trusted advisor to major brands and high-street retailers, helping them navigate complex packaging compliance data and corporate sustainability strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
*Strategic Prospecting: Researching and mapping out target sectors, connecting with sustainability and compliance decision-makers via LinkedIn, phone, email, and industry events.
*Discovery & Consultative Sales: Conducting meaningful discovery conversations to uncover prospective clients’ operational headaches regarding packaging data and regulations.
*Pipeline Creation: Building, qualifying, and managing a robust pipeline of new B2B business opportunities.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering closely with internal Marketing and Commercial teams to maximize the impact of targeted lead-generation campaigns.
*Seamless Handover: Ensuring a smooth transition of qualified, warm opportunities over to the expert Account Management teams.


About You
We are looking for a motivated, relationship-focused professional who can confidently open doors and grasp technical, data-driven concepts. You will be a strong match if you have:
*Proven Commercial Experience: A track record in business development, lead generation, inside sales, or a similar B2B client-facing role.
*Exceptional Communication: Strong questioning and listening skills, with the ability to build immediate rapport and credibility over the phone and online.
*Curiosity & Learning Agility: Comfortable working within a regulated, data-led sector and eager to become an expert on the UK’s sustainable packaging landscape.
*A Driven, Collaborative Mindset: Self-motivated to manage your own pipeline, but deeply collaborative and eager to celebrate team wins.
