Full job descriptionAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a growing and supportive business. Working as part of an established finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and contributing to the continued success of the organisation.
Responsibilities
*Posting and allocating customer receipts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
*Performing regular bank reconciliations
*Managing the sales ledger, including customer accounts with complex billing arrangements
*Overseeing the purchase ledger and processing supplier payments accurately and on time
*Maintaining and updating the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
*Liaising with colleagues across the business to gather financial information and resolve queries
*Supporting the Finance Manager with additional finance and administrative duties as required
About You
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience within an accounting or finance role
*AAT Level 3 qualified or above
*Strong working knowledge of accounting systems, with Sage 200 experience advantageous
*Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
*High level of accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
*Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
*Professional, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team
