Position: Full-Time, Permanent
About the RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and client-focused Paralegal to join a busy and well-regarded Private Client team in Chelmsford. This role is ideal for an individual with previous Private Client experience who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and professional legal environment.
Working closely with experienced solicitors and fee earners, you will play an important role in supporting a broad range of Private Client matters while helping to ensure an exceptional standard of client service.
Key Responsibilities*Provide administrative and legal support to solicitors and fee earners within the Private Client department.
*Assist with the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate applications and Court of Protection documentation.
*Draft correspondence and legal documents under supervision.
*Open and maintain client files in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
*Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions and third parties in a professional and timely manner.
*Assist with estate administration, including gathering asset information and preparing documentation.
*Manage diaries, appointments and client meetings.
*Undertake legal research and prepare documents as required.
*Ensure accurate record keeping and file management throughout the life of a matter.
*Support the department in achieving service standards and operational objectives.
About YouThe successful candidate will be professional, empathetic and highly organised, with a genuine interest in Private Client law and client care.
You will possess:
*Previous experience within a Private Client department as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
*Knowledge of Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and related Private Client matters.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
*The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
*A professional and compassionate approach when dealing with clients and their families.
*Strong IT skills and confidence using case management systems.
*A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Desirable Experience*Experience assisting with Probate and estate administration matters.
*Familiarity with Court of Protection procedures.
*Experience using legal case management software.
*A Law Degree, LPC, SQE studies or equivalent legal qualification.
