Description
The Commercial Accountant’s responsibilities include
*Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate coding
*Manage supplier payments and payment runs
*Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries
*Raise sales invoices and credit notes
*Monitor outstanding debtors and assist with credit control
*Reconcile customer accounts and handle queries
*Perform bank reconciliations
*Assist with monitoring day-to-day cash movements
*Assist in preparing month-end accounts and post journals (accruals, prepayments, adjustments)
*Support the Finance Manager with reporting tasks
*Support audit preparation where required
*Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet
*Maintain strong financial controls and compliance (VAT, tax, statutory requirements)
*Drive process improvements and efficiencies, including systems and reporting
*Contribute to the overall financial strategy of the business
Profile
A successful Commercial Accountant should have:
*A recognised qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
*Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*An understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
*Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
*Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
*The ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
