About the RoleAn excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team. This role offers genuine career progression opportunities for someone looking to develop their finance career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. Whilst the position has a strong focus on purchase ledger activities, you will also gain exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities including reconciliations, payroll support, sales ledger and month-end processes.
This is a fully office-based role, ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues and taking ownership of their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities*Processing purchase ledger invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
*Supporting sales ledger activities, including raising invoices and credit notes.
*Performing regular bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate cash records.
*Assisting with credit control and management of overdue accounts.
*Supporting the preparation and processing of payroll, including collating and validating payroll data.
*Maintaining the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals and depreciation tracking.
*Ensuring financial records and supporting documentation are maintained accurately.
*Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
*Supporting external audit requirements by providing relevant documentation.
*Providing general administrative support to the finance team as required.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
*A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a transactional finance or accounts role.
*Strong purchase ledger experience, with exposure to wider finance processes such as reconciliations and month-end activities.
*Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and resolving queries.
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
*Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
*Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
*A proactive approach and the ability to work independently.
