Full job descriptionLocation: Kent
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off - 2 days, 2 nights
Multi Skilled Shift Engineer ensures the effective operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of machinery within a manufacturing environment, minimising downtime and supporting production targets.
Key Responsibilities
*Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
*Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns
*Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
*Support continuous improvement initiatives
*Maintain accurate maintenance records
*Work with production to reduce downtime
*Assist with equipment installation and commissioning
*Monitor site utilities (e.g., steam, air systems)
Skills & Experience
*Experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
*Strong electrical and/or mechanical skills
*PLC fault finding (desirable)
*Problem-solving and teamwork skills
*Ability to work in fast-paced, shift-based roles
*Safety-focused with attention to detail
Qualifications
*Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent)
*Electrical certification (desirable)

*Site-based role in an industrial environment
*KPIs include uptime, maintenance completion and safety compliance
