About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Matron to provide strong clinical leadership and operational management across designated services. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior nurse to drive quality, safety, and patient experience while supporting the delivery of high standards of compassionate care.
As a Clinical Matron, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective service delivery, workforce management, and continuous improvement across clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide visible, professional leadership to nursing and multidisciplinary teams
*Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
*Lead on clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives
*Support performance management, workforce planning, and staff development
*Oversee infection prevention and control standards
*Manage operational issues, including patient flow and service efficiency
*Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning
*Act as a role model for professional practice and organisational values
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
*Registered Nurse (NMC) qualification
*Significant senior nursing experience, ideally at Band 7 or above
*Proven leadership and people management skills
*Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management
*Experience leading teams through change and service development
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
*A commitment to delivering outstanding patient care
Desirable:
*Leadership or management qualification
*Experience in service redesign or transformation
*Evidence of continuous professional development
