Full job description1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant - KS1 - NewhamA warm and supportive Primary School in Newham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a KS1 child with Autism (ASD). This is a full-time role starting ASAP until end of academic year
The Role*Providing 1:1 support for a KS1 child with ASD who is pre-verbal

*Supporting communication and engagement through Now & Next boards, visual aids, and structured routines

*Assisting with Phonics-based activities and early learning tasks

*Supporting the child’s social and emotional development

*Providing personal care when required

*Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and external specialists

Requirements*Previous experience supporting children with ASD and complex needs

*Confidence using visual supports (Now & Next boards, visual timetables, PECS, etc.)

*Understanding of Phonics in early literacy development

*Patient, nurturing, and able to build trust and consistency

*Comfortable supporting with personal care

Job Details*Role: 1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant (KS1, ASD)

*Location: Newham

*Start Date: ASAP

*Contract: Long-term until end of academic year (extension likely)

*Pay: £95 - £110 per day (paid weekly)
