Main duties will be to carry out psychological assessments as part of the Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and Annual Review process.

Job requirements
*Must have qualified pre 2023
*Have permanent experience within an English LA and not just Locum work
*Can offer at least 4 assessments per month
*The Educational Psychology Service works closely with other Local Authority Services and officers, schools, settings and parent/carers to support children and young people in achieving the best possible outcomes in their education and wider personal development.
*By applying knowledge of psychological principles and problem solving processes,
*Educational Psychologists support and enhance the work of other professionals, and help to improve the life-chances of children and young people.
SCOPE FOR IMPACT
*Educational Psychologists offer advice to and engage in joint problem solving with schools and settings on the special educational needs and disabilities of children and young people, and how these needs can best be met.
*Educational Psychologists also work at a systemic level across the Local Authority’s SEND Clusters to promote inclusion and reduce barriers to learning and participation for all children and young people
SPECIAL NOTES OR CONDITIONS
Use of a vehicle:
*The nature of the duties of this post will require you to travel on Council business on a regular basis, so you must either have a current driving licence and provide a car, or have access to appropriate means of travel.
*Must be fluent in spoken and written English
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A fully qualified Educational Psychologist has either:
*An Honours Degree in Psychology (or equivalent acceptable for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society), a recognised teaching qualification, at least two years qualified classroom teaching experience and a Masters qualification in Educational Psychology.
Or:
*An Honours Degree in Psychology (or equivalent acceptable for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society), considerable experience working with children and/or young people and their families and a Doctorate in Educational Psychology
*A fully qualified Educational Psychologist will have current registration with
*
*the Health and Care Professions Council.
