Full job descriptionBenefit Assessment Officer
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £20-£23 per hour Umbrella
Location: Remote
System: Civica OpenRevenues
Main duties of the job:
*Assessing new claims, changes of circumstances, and revisions for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction in line with statutory regulations and local authority policies
*Review and validate supporting documentation, applying risk-based verification where required
*Provide clear, accurate explanations of decisions to customers, local authorities, and partner organisations
*Maintain accurate records on the organisations case-management systems, ensuring all actions meet audit and quality standards
*Work to agreed KPIs, including accuracy, productivity, and turnaround times
*Respond to queries, providing technical guidance, and contributing to continuous service improvement
*Identify potential fraud indicators and refer cases appropriately
*Keep up to date with Housing Benefit, CTR, DWP guidance, and welfare reform changes
