Description
*Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
*Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate financial data.
*Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
*Prepare financial reports and present insights to support strategic decisions.
*Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries as required.
*Assist with VAT returns and compliance reporting.
*Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate cost allocation.
*Support the wider Accounting & Finance team with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Profile
A successful Assistant Management Accountant should have:
*A relevant qualification or working towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or CIMA).
*Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
*Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*An understanding of financial reporting and analysis within the retail industry.
*The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
