SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 & 2:1 Support) Blackpool, Lancashire
Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity
About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackpool. This role will involve providing both 1:1 and 2:1 support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and reach their full potential.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities*Provide tailored 1:1 and 2:1 support for pupils with SEN
*Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
*Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
*Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
*Encourage independence and confidence in learning
*Support pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or learning difficulties
*Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements*Previous SEN experience - essential
*Experience working with children in an educational or care setting
*Understanding of different SEN needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
*Ability to work effectively as part of a team
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
