Full job descriptionRole Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to support the day-to-day finance function and contribute to the delivery of accurate and timely financial information. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of transactional finance, month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory reporting requirements, and assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities
*Maintain all aspects of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers.
*Manage credit control activities and monitor outstanding customer balances.
*Perform bank reconciliations and maintain petty cash records.
*Maintain fixed asset registers and prepare depreciation schedules.
Reporting & Reconciliations
*Reconcile stock ledger balances to the general ledger and investigate discrepancies.
*Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and other month-end journals.
*Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
*Ensure accurate and timely financial information is available for management reporting.
*Support the preparation of monthly cashflow reports and annual budgets.
Audit & Business Support
*Provide support during internal and external audits.
*Liaise with operational departments to resolve financial queries and improve processes.
*Build and maintain strong working relationships across the business.
*Assist the Finance Manager with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.
Skills & Experience
Essential
*Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a finance or accounting role.
*Strong understanding of management accounting principles and month-end processes.
*Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and reconciliations.
*Good knowledge of VAT and statutory reporting requirements.
Desirable
*Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
*AAT Level 4 Qualified
*Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification
