We are recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist Additional Learning Needs (ALN) unit in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Swansea.

The RoleYou will be supporting children with a range of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Non-verbal communication needs
Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH)
ADHD
Your day-to-day could include:
Working 1:1 or in small groups to support learning and development
Using alternative communication strategies (e.g. visuals, gestures, PEC Cards)
Helping children regulate emotions and build positive routines
Supporting structured play and sensory activities
Collaborating closely with teachers and specialist staff
No two days are ever the same – but every day is meaningful


Who would suit this role?You don’t need direct classroom experience – transferable skills matter most!
We’d love to hear from:
Sports coaches / rugby coaches
?? Youth workers or support workers
Psychology graduates
?? Individuals with personal experience supporting ALN
Anyone patient, resilient and passionate about helping children succeed


Training & SupportFREE CPD provided – including behaviour management & ALN training
Ongoing support from Teaching Personnel from day 1
Excellent experience for careers in teaching, psychology or support work

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
