Developer – 6 mth Fixed Term Contract paying up to £100k base salary


Job Spec:


My client is seeking a highly skilled Software Developer to play a key role in the future TOM of a buy-side client of ours. who is currently implementing Charles River, and EMS called Adroit and Databricks.


The successful candidate will collaborate with technology teams, trading desks, and external vendors (Databricks and Charles River) to design, integrate, and optimise platforms and extract required data.


Key Responsibilities


*Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of various trading systems.
*Develop and maintain applications and services using Python, Angular + and .Net along with experience in Databricks
*Write and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to ensure high-performance data access and reporting.
*Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
*Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system stability and resilience.
*Follow best practices for coding, testing, and deployment in a regulated environment.


Key Requirements


*Proven experience as a Software Engineer / Developer within financial services, preferably in trading, investment management, or capital markets.
*Strong programming skills in Python, Angular + and .Net along with experience in Databricks.
*Hands-on experience with API development, integration, and management (REST, SOAP, WebSockets).
*Advanced knowledge of SQL (queries, optimisation, stored procedures, schema design).
*Familiarity with trading workflows, market data, and order/execution management systems is highly desirable.
*Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
