Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
Pay: £500 per week (PAYE) with weekly pay
Start Date: 7 September 2026

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly. No previous school experience is required. We’ll provide the training, guidance, and support you need to succeed.
About the RoleYou’ll work within a mainstream secondary school supporting students aged 11–18, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
*Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

*Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

*Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

*Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

As part of your role, you’ll also help deliver targeted intervention sessions twice a week, using resources and strategies provided through ongoing training and support.

What You’ll Be Doing*Providing one-to-one and small group support to students

*Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

*Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management

*Delivering structured intervention activities with guidance from experienced staff
