Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Contract: Term Time Only
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential?
We are seeking a compassionate, proactive and resilient Intervention Support Worker to join a successful secondary school in Milton Keynes from September 2026.
This rewarding role will involve working within a dedicated Intervention Centre, supporting students who may be disengaged from learning or experiencing difficulties accessing the mainstream curriculum. Through targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions, you will help students rebuild confidence, develop positive learning behaviours and successfully reintegrate into lessons.
Working closely with pastoral, SEND and teaching colleagues, you will play a key role in providing tailored support that meets the individual needs of students. You will adapt intervention strategies, offer in-class support where required and contribute to creating a nurturing environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver targeted intervention programmes to support students’ academic, social and emotional development.
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help students re-engage with learning.
*Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral and SEND teams to plan and implement personalised support strategies.
*Support students in overcoming barriers to learning, behaviour and attendance.
*Monitor, record and track student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports.
*Provide classroom support where appropriate to ensure students can access learning successfully.
*Build positive and trusting relationships with students, promoting confidence, resilience and self-esteem.
*Communicate effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure coordinated support.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Experience supporting young people in an educational, pastoral, SEND or youth work setting.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*A patient, calm and empathetic approach.
*The ability to adapt support strategies to meet a range of individual needs.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
