Interim Tax Accountant
Central Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
6 Month Contract | Up to £450 per day (Inside IR35) | Immediate Start
We are supporting a large, complex organisation in Central Birmingham to appoint an Interim Tax Accountant on a 6-month contract.
This role sits within a well-structured finance function and will take ownership of UK corporate tax compliance and reporting, alongside broader exposure to financial reporting and month-end processes.
This is a strong opportunity for a technically capable, qualified accountant with hands-on UK tax experience who is available to start at short notice.
Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & Reporting
*Prepare and submit UK corporation tax returns
*Manage quarterly corporation tax payments on account
*Prepare quarterly VAT and monthly CIS returns
*Calculate and post current and deferred tax
*Support tax disclosures within statutory accounts
*Maintain and enhance tax controls, processes and governance frameworks
*Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors
*Support IFRS tax reporting requirements
Financial Reporting & Control
*Support monthly management accounts close
*Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations
*Deliver variance analysis against budget and forecast
*Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles
*Support statutory reporting and audit processes
*Partner with wider finance teams to improve reporting and controls
Key Requirements*Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
*Strong UK Corporation Tax experience (essential)
*Experience preparing VAT returns
*Good understanding of IFRS reporting
*Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
*Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
