Full job descriptionWe are seeking a committed, enthusiastic and nurturing Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive ARMS department from September.
This is a full-time position within a growing and inclusive primary school where staff work closely together to ensure every child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally. The role involves working with pupils with additional needs, helping them to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop independence in a safe and structured environment.
The school has a strong "family school" ethos, where the whole child is at the centre of every decision. Staff are dedicated to creating a calm, caring and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and able to achieve their full potential. With extensive grounds, a recently refurbished building, and a strong focus on wellbeing and involvement, this is a fantastic place to develop your career in education.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support pupils within the ARMS department on a 1:1 and small group basis
*Help deliver learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher
*Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
*Use a calm, consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour support
*Encourage independence while providing appropriate scaffolding and guidance
*Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
*Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will:
*Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent experience considered)
*Have experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
*Be patient, resilient, and committed to making a difference
*Be able to build strong, positive relationships with children and staff
*Work effectively as part of a team and follow clear guidance
*Have a genuine passion for inclusive education and child development
