Full job descriptionFood Technician Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (Term Time Only)
Salary: Competitive, pro-rata
About the RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and organized Food Technician to join our successful Design & Technology team. This part-time role is vital to ensuring our practical classrooms are safe, clean, and exceptionally well-managed, allowing teachers to deliver high-quality lessons.
Key Responsibilities*Hygiene & Maintenance: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety. This includes the daily cleaning and deep cleaning of ovens, hobs, work surfaces, and equipment.
*Allergen Awareness: Ensure strict management and awareness of pupils’ food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements to maintain a safe environment.
*Budget & Stock Control: Manage the food department budget efficiently, handling the ordering, purchasing, and preparation of ingredients while minimizing waste.
*Classroom Support: Prepare and set out ingredients and equipment for Food Tech lessons.
About You*Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
*Meticulous attention to hygiene, food safety, and allergen control.
*Experience managing budgets, stock, or resources.
*Comfortable maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient practical workspace.
*Sympathetic to the supportive, high-achieving ethos of a secondary school environment.
