Salary: £35,800 (FTE)
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a proactive and people-focused Tenant Business Adviser to join their Marketing & Special Projects team on a part-time basis (22.5 hours per week). This rewarding role offers the opportunity to support and engage with businesses across multiple business centres in Sunderland, helping them to start, grow and thrive.
Working across several locations, the successful candidate will play a key role in building strong tenant relationships, delivering tailored business support, and contributing to vibrant business communities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced adviser who enjoys variety, collaboration and making a tangible impact on business growth and regional economic development.
Key Responsibilities:
Tenant Engagement & Business Support
*Build strong, professional relationships with tenants across multiple business centres
*Deliver one-to-one business advice sessions to understand goals, challenges and growth priorities
*Develop clear and practical growth plans with actionable steps
*Provide ongoing support and follow-up to encourage sustained development
Programme & Event Development
*Design and deliver events, workshops and initiatives aligned to tenant needs
*Identify opportunities for new initiatives and collaborative activities
*Work closely with internal teams to promote events and share success stories
Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement
*Connect businesses with wider support networks, funding opportunities and specialist advisers
*Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders
*Act as an ambassador for the business centres, supporting engagement and networking activity
Monitoring & Reporting
*Maintain accurate records of tenant interactions and outcomes
*Support reporting against KPIs including engagement and programme delivery
*Contribute to case studies and impact reporting
About You:
*Strong customer-focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills
*Ability to build trust and rapport with business owners
*Coaching mindset with the ability to support, guide and challenge constructively
*Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to drive engagement
*Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and relationships
*Confident communicator with experience presenting and facilitating sessions
*Collaborative approach to working with internal teams and external partners
Essential Experience:
*Experience providing business advice, coaching or enterprise support
*Understanding of business growth challenges (finance, funding, markets, operations)
*Experience delivering or contributing to workshops, programmes or events
*Ability to signpost to external support and funding opportunities
*Experience maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting
Desirable:
*Experience working with businesses in sectors such as digital, technology, professional services, manufacturing or engineering
*Familiarity with business centres, coworking or managed workspaces
*Knowledge of local business support networks and regional ecosystem
