Job Description:
Full job descriptionSenior Management Accountant | Rapidly Scaling Creative Agency for Global Brands | London (Putney)
The Client
We are partnering with a fast-growing creative agency that works with some of the world’s best-known luxury fashion, beauty and technology brands. They run a true design-and-build, fee-for-time model: around £10m of revenue in the UK with a separate US operation adding a further $15m and roughly 40 staff. They are scaling rapidly. This is a hands-on, project-driven business at a genuine inflection point.
The Role
This is a newly strengthened Senior Management Accountant role, reporting to the Head of Finance within a tight five-person finance team (a fractional FD, the Head of Finance, this hire, a payroll manager, and an accounts assistant). You will own management accounts and month-end (with a clear goal of moving to a five-day close), lead project-level accounting across live jobs, and consolidate the US entity into group reporting, all while partnering closely with project managers and production teams. It is high-volume, commercial, and offers real influence over how the finance function scales.
Key Responsibilities
*Own the month-end close, journals and management accounts, driving towards a five-day close
*Lead project accounting: track job profitability, forecast completion and flag cost overruns to project and production teams
*Consolidate the US entity’s accounts (the US keeps its own books) into group reporting
*Business partner with project managers and production teams, turning the numbers into commercial insight
*Own revenue recognition and reporting across projects
*Post ad hoc invoices and journals and support the wider transactional team as needed
*Help improve and scale finance processes as the business grows
Essential Experience
*A capable management accountant with at least two years at that level, ready to step up
*Background in a fee-for-time business: agency, architecture, professional services or a similar project-based environment
*Strong ownership of month-end and management accounts
*Comfortable with project or job-level profitability accounting
*A confident communicator who can partner with non-finance teams
*Within a comfortable commute of Putney (this is a four-day-in-office role)
Qualification
Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience all considered. A full study support package is available if you are still studying.
Desirable Experience
*An interest in or exposure to the creative industry
*Experience consolidating a US or other overseas entity
*A track record of improving close timelines and finance processes
Package
Salary: £65,000-£70,000 + discretionary bonus (typically one to two months’ salary)
Location: Putney, London; four days in office, one at home
Study support: Full package if still studying
Start Date: ASAP
