Teaching Personnel is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support a range of local primary schools across Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced education professionals looking to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and development.
About the RoleAs an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, you will provide targeted support to individuals and small groups, while also confidently leading whole-class learning when required.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher
*Lead small-group interventions across core curriculum subjects
*Provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs, including SEN
*Assist with lesson planning, assessment, and pupil progress tracking
*Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive learning environment
*Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support pupil achievement
Requirements*A recognised HLTA Level 4 qualification
*Previous experience working within a primary school setting
*Confidence in leading whole-class learning and managing classroom behaviour
*Strong communication and interpersonal skills
*A proactive, positive attitude and genuine passion for education
*Commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils
