Full job descriptionAxon Moore are partnering with a successful food business in the Yorkshire region to appoint their Managing Director. The business is ideally looking to appoint an MD who comes from a financial background.

This unique role within a highly innovative business will play a strategic leadership role in the business as they look to achieve their short, medium and long term goals.

The MD in this business will need to have a sound financial background to make key decisions related to key business drivers, costs and the balance between risk and reward.

Key responsibility of the role will include:
*Lead the day to day business, with both general management and financial oversight
*Build and maintain a high performing team and culture
*Ensure financial rigour and discipline exists in the business, being aware of fluctuating cost pressures
*Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts
*Be a leading member of a strategic board consisting of shareholders and leaders in the business
*Work with the finance and operations functions to ensure appropriate systems, controls and processes are in place
*Report business performance to shareholders and the Board
*Lead commercial negotiations
*Maintain industry accreditation and quality standards

The ideal candidate for this role should have the following background and experience:
*Proven leader with food sector experience
*The successful candidate will ideally have experience both as a Managing Director and have worked in a senior financial role (could be a qualified or qualified by experience accountant who has progressed into an MD role)
*Experience working within an SME environment, able to adapt, work in a hands on way as well as strategic
