Full job descriptionTax Investigations ManagerLondon | Hybrid Working£65,000 - £85,000 + Bonus + BenefitsA leading independent tax advisory firm is seeking an experienced Tax Investigations Manager to join its growing Tax Disputes and Investigations team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected specialist practice that advises a broad range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, professional partnerships and corporates. The team is recognised for delivering expert advice on complex HMRC enquiries, disclosures, tax disputes and investigations.
The OpportunityAs a Tax Investigations Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of contentious tax matters, working directly with clients and HMRC to deliver effective and commercially focused outcomes. You will be joining a collaborative team of specialists and will have the opportunity to work on challenging, high-value cases while developing your career within a growing and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities*Managing a portfolio of HMRC enquiries, investigations and tax dispute cases.

*Advising clients on disclosure opportunities, settlements and tax risk management strategies.

*Leading correspondence and negotiations with HMRC.

*Supporting clients through Code of Practice 8 (COP8) and Code of Practice 9 (COP9) investigations.

*Preparing technical reports, disclosures and settlement proposals.

*Identifying technical issues and developing practical solutions.

*Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

*Supporting Partners and Directors with business development initiatives.

*Coaching and mentoring junior team members.

Candidate RequirementsEssential*CTA, ACA, ACCA, ATT or equivalent professional qualification.

*Strong experience within Tax Investigations, Tax Disputes, Tax Controversy or HMRC Enquiries.

*Excellent knowledge of UK tax legislation and HMRC processes.

*Experience managing client relationships and handling complex cases.

*Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable*Experience dealing with COP8 and COP9 investigations.

*Voluntary disclosure and settlement experience.

*Previous experience gained within a specialist tax consultancy, accountancy practice or professional services firm.

*Business development experience and a commercial mindset.
