Humanities Teacher (History Specialist) Bridgwater Area, Somerset
Full Time | Maternity Cover (up to 1 year)
MPS3-MPS6/UPS (dependent on experience)
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner if available)
Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Bridgwater area to recruit an engaging and knowledgeable Humanities Teacher, with a specialism in History.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive and high-performing department on a long-term maternity cover, delivering inspiring lessons that bring history to life.
The RoleYou will primarily teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to the wider Humanities curriculum.
The role will involve:
*Delivering high-quality, engaging History lessons
*Encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and discussion
*Helping students draw connections between the past and modern society
*Supporting students in developing strong analytical and evaluative skills
*Contributing to a collaborative and successful Humanities department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* A creative, engaging, and resilient teaching style
* A team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute
* A passion for Humanities and student development
* A firm belief that every student can succeed
