Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are recruiting for an experienced Traffic/Transport Planner to join a busy transport and logistics operation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of transport planning and fleet scheduling who can effectively coordinate daily operations while maintaining excellent customer service and cost efficiency.
The successful candidate will play a key role in planning vehicle movements, managing driver activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant transport regulations.
Responsibilities:
*Providing professional customer service
*Day-to-day load planning and scheduling of the fleet
*Prioritising workload and route planning
*Daily driver brief and de-brief
*Tachograph tracking
*Liaising with sub-contractors and suppliers
*Liaising with other internal departments
Key Skills & Experience:
*Good geographical knowledge of the UK
*Knowledge and understanding of Driver’s Working Time Regulations
*Awareness of Driver’s CPC legislation
*Effective team player
*Excellent organisational skills
*Good IT skills and exposure to route planning software or equivalent
*Transport related experience preferred
*Previous experience with Roadrunner or similar route planning software is essential
*Familiarity with common computer packages including Microsoft Office or equivalent
*Ability to demonstrate professional confidence and clear communication skills
*Strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Ability to learn quickly
