Nottingham | £55,000 – £60,000 per annum | Technology / Software
The Company
My client is a well-established, privately owned business headquartered in Nottingham with a sizeable UK workforce and a long track record of growth and stability. Operating within a specialist services environment, they have built a strong reputation with an extensive client base across the UK and Ireland. Their finance function is well-resourced and commercially focused, playing an active role in shaping business decisions at a senior level. This is an employer that invests genuinely in its people, with strong internal development opportunities and a culture that prioritises wellbeing and inclusion.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a broad and commercially focused Finance Business Partner position. You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts cycle, maintain balance sheet integrity, and act as a trusted adviser to non-finance stakeholders across the business. This is not a back-office reporting role — you will be expected to challenge, influence, and add genuine commercial value. Applications are welcome from both qualified accountants and those currently studying towards their professional qualification.
Key Responsibilities
*Owning the end-to-end month-end close process, producing timely accounts with meaningful narrative
*Taking accountability for the integrity of the balance sheet and the underlying reconciliation process
*Playing a central role in the annual budget cycle and rolling forecast activity
*Building financial models and scenario analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions
*Developing strong working relationships with senior stakeholders outside of finance, translating numbers into clear commercial insight
*Identifying and implementing improvements to financial reporting and control frameworks
*Managing the year-end process and acting as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulatory bodies
Skills & Experience Required
*Qualified or part-qualified accountant — CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
*Proven experience in a management accounts or finance business partnering role
*Confident working with non-finance stakeholders and translating data into clear insight
*Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and interpret financial models
*Experience of budgeting and forecasting in a commercially active environment
*Well organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities to deadline
*People management or mentoring experience is an advantage
Benefits
*Salary of £55,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
*Study support available for those working towards professional qualification
*25 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional leave
*Enhanced family leave
*Access to private medical and dental cover (opt-in)
*Extensive internal training programme and professional development opportunities
*On-site subsidised restaurant
*Employee discount scheme with access to hundreds of retailers
*Genuine commercial influence within a high-profile finance function
