Full job descriptionThe Business
West Yorkshire | Hybrid Working | Up to £36,000 + Study Support
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive and ambitious part-qualified accountant to join a well-established, market-leading business with a strong UK presence and international reach.
This is a fantastic role for someone looking to step into a more technical, commercially relevant position within a supportive environment that genuinely invests in development and progression.

Our client is a well-established and recognised leader in its sector. The business combines a people-focused culture with a strong commercial mindset, offering employees the opportunity to develop their careers in a supportive and collaborative environment.
There is a strong emphasis on internal progression, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within financial accounting.

The Role
You’ll join a large, structured finance function within a business that is continuing to grow and diversify its offering. With exposure across multiple entities and international markets, this role offers excellent breadth and long-term career potential.
Reporting into the Financial Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in strengthening the team’s technical capability, with a focus on financial accounting, compliance and statutory support.
This is not a transactional role – it is ideally suited to someone looking to deepen their understanding of financial accounting in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
*Support monthly close activities including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
*Assist with statutory reporting and audit processes across multiple entities
*Provide support on tax queries and compliance activity
*Manage key accounting areas including fixed assets, lease accounting and intercompany
*Contribute to cashflow, treasury and banking processes when required
*Work closely with internal stakeholders, including international teams
*Support continuous improvement initiatives and ad hoc finance projects

About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who are looking to step up into a more complex and technical assistant accountant role.
Essential experience:
*Proven month-end exposure within an industry-based finance role
*Strong grounding in financial accounting (beyond purely transactional duties)
*Confident using Excel and comfortable working with financial data
*Experience working in a structured, deadline-driven environment

Qualifications:

*Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or actively studying)

Personal attributes:

*Proactive and able to take ownership of responsibilities
*Confident communicator – able to build relationships across teams
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Able to work independently and "hit the ground running"
*Comfortable operating in a fast-paced month-end environment

Why Apply?
*Salary: Up to £36,000 (depending on experience)
*Full study support
*25 days holiday + bank holidays
*Pension scheme
*Hybrid working (typically 3 days from home, 2 days on-site)
*Flexible start and finish times
*Additional employee benefits
