Full job descriptionWe are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant or experienced practice professional who enjoys managing client relationships, overseeing a varied portfolio, and supporting the development of a high-performing team.
The Role
As an Accounts & Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality accounting and taxation service.
Key Responsibilities
*Managing a portfolio of accounts and tax clients
*Leading client meetings and providing accounting and tax advice
*Reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns before submission
*Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
*Monitoring workflow and allocating work across the team
*Reviewing files to ensure quality, compliance, and technical standards are met
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships
*Managing deadlines and ensuring all client commitments are delivered on time
*Supporting year-end reporting requirements, including P11Ds and other tax-related filings
*Driving efficiencies through technology and best practice processes
*Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior team members
*Contributing to a positive and high-performing team culture
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience managing a portfolio within an accountancy practice
*Strong accounts and tax knowledge
*Excellent client relationship and communication skills
*Experience reviewing the work of others
*Good organisational and time management skills
*Experience using accounting software, ideally:
*Xero
*Sage
