Job Description:
Full job descriptionAn international group of companies based in Wakefield currently has a unique opportunity for a Senior Head of Finance / Financial Controller to join the organisation at a particularly exciting stage in its growth journey.
Reporting directly into the leadership team and operating as the number one finance professional within the business, you will play a key role in both the financial and commercial aspects of driving future growth, performance and operational improvement across the Group.


Key responsibilities will include:
*Overseeing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including consolidated management accounts.
*Monitoring cash flow across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
*Managing banking relationships and overseeing key financial transactions.
*Providing strategic financial insight and support for investment and business decisions.
*Taking ownership of the purchase ledger function to ensure liabilities are managed and paid on a timely basis.
*Overseeing the sales ledger function, ensuring robust credit control procedures are maintained.
*Acting as a key point of contact between the business, investors, auditors and banking partners.
*Reviewing and enhancing internal controls, systems and financial processes where appropriate.
*Leading and developing the finance function, allocating responsibilities in line with individual strengths and capabilities.
*Monitoring and supporting the financial evolution of the Group as it continues to expand.
To be considered, you will ideally be able to demonstrate the following:
*CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification.
*Previous experience operating as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance.
*Experience within manufacturing, retail or property sectors would be advantageous, although not essential.
*A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop the finance function whilst supporting the business through its ambitious growth plans.
