We’re currently seeking a skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join a busy local authority team in Blackburn on a locum basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by supporting individuals to maintain independence and improve their quality of life within the community.
The Role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, community-based assessments and interventions, including the provision of equipment and recommendations for both minor and major adaptations.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out community assessments within a local authority setting, identifying needs and recommending appropriate standard and specialist equipment
*Assess for and coordinate minor and major home adaptations to enhance safety and independence
*Work collaboratively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored support plans
*Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in line with professional and legal standards
Requirements
*HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with relevant qualifications
*Proven experience working within a local authority setting
*Strong experience in manual handling assessments
*Comprehensive knowledge of equipment provision and home adaptation processes
*Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
