Wantage | 3-Month Contract (initially) | £17.95ph - £20.51ph
Our client, a large international manufacturing organisation based in Wantage, is seeking an experienced Assistant Payroll Manager to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.
This is a hands-on role supporting the delivery of an accurate and efficient payroll service within a busy, fast-paced environment. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you’ll play a key role in payroll processing, compliance, employee query resolution, and day-to-day payroll operations.
Key responsibilities
*Supporting end-to-end payroll processing
*Managing salary changes, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
*Resolving payroll queries and discrepancies
*Assisting with HMRC compliance, RTI submissions, and year-end activities
*Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations, and variance analysis
*Supporting and guiding payroll team members
Key skills required
*Previous UK payroll experience is essential
*Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
*Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Sage, SAP, or similar
*Strong Excel and data management skills
*Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
*The ability to work effectively to tight deadlines
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established global business and make an immediate impact within a supportive payroll team. Initially a 3-month period to support a busy period within the business but could be extended to a longer period and possibly made permanent.
